Seller note:

The Vagabond 42' "Ma'alahi" is a center cockpit bluewater cruiser designed to take you anywhere in the world. She has a modified full keel with a skeg mounted rudder, keel stepped mast, clipper bow and a heart shaped transom. This particular model was built by Sea Chief Yacht Builders Int. in Tiawan. The boat has been undergoing a refit for the past few years now and an unfortunate life changing event has forced the sale of their sailboat before completion. It's about 80% complete. What has been done has been accomplished by local professionals and craftsmen in the trade.
Powered by a re-built 65 HP Ford Lehman diesel engine in 2006 with 30 hours. Lakewood Yacht Service did the rebuild. The transmission was replaced with a re-built also in 2005.
A new 108 gallon aluminum fuel tank was installed a few years ago as was the two new 50 gallon each stainless steel water tanks.
The teak has been removed from the deck. It does need to be prepped and painted and nonskid applied. The entire boat needs paint. The mast and booms were painted by South Texas Yacht Service in 2006.
See full specs for the complete details on the refit and newly added equipment and modifications
Presently this is a two cabin layout. Originally it was a three cabin with the third cabin midships to starboard. That has been modified and now serves as a workroom and also contains the custom built refrigeration box with an Adler Barbour refrigeration/freezer system that was new in 2001. The opening to this area is wide and trimmed in teak. Its different for a Vagabond but quite nice.

The V-berth forward had twin bunks and can again without a lot of work. It was modified for the purpose of having a single berth. Aft of the V-berth to port is the head with a Corian vanity and new sink and marine toilet. Large storage cabinet above vanity. The holding tank is a bladder and in storage.

The main salon has settees both port and starboard with the dinette table to port. At present the old teak sole was taken out when the tanks were removed and now in its place is form fitted plywood that is ready for new teak and holly sole or carpet. The dinette table is in storage.

The master stateroom is aft with a queen bed however the mattress will need to be repalced. Shelving and hanging locker space on both sides with a large bank of drawers to port. the teak and holly sole is in place from the galley aft.

The boat has been re-wired. All the thru-hulls and seacocks were replaced in 2005.

The 42 Vagabonds have no compression post on the mizzen mast therefore they are reinforced with a wooden beam. In this case it has been additionally reinforced with a stainless steel plate under the mast located in the aft cabin.

Below you will find a description of what is left to do on the boat.

The deck is in great shape. It was solid fiberglass with the teak veneer. After the teak was removed, the screw holes were filled and then marine plywood was cut and screwed & expoxied to the deck. Then fiberglass was laid with an epoxy resin and then painted. On every haulout the hull has been solid and blister-free. The last haulout was in Florida when we trucked it to Texas in the summer of 2005.

The first thing that needs to be done is to get some paint on the deck to protect the epoxy.  The remaining projects are:
